The likelihood is great that wide receiver Davante Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, has played his final game with the Raiders in Las Vegas.
Reports surfaced late last month indicating that Adams had communicated his preference to be dealt to the Raiders’ brass by meeting with them. By then, Las Vegas was negotiating a possible contract with several teams.
The ongoing controversy between Adams and the Raiders’ brass serves as the background here. The nasty Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers, in which head coach Antonio Pierce chastised his players for making “business decisions,” made it even more magnified.
Adams, 31, has been sidelined ever since due to a hamstring ailment. Though nothing has happened since, the All-Pro receiver may yet be sold before the NFL trade deadline on November 5.
This most recent study suggests that nothing significant will likely come to light anytime soon.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Thursday that the trade talks involving Adams have been placed on hold. According to Rapoport, one of the reasons the negotiations have stagnated is the shifting dynamics surrounding the New York Jets. It is reported that Adams’ preferred landing location was New York.
