Pittsburgh After sustaining a groin strain against the Los Angeles Chargers, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith made his first practice since. This was much-needed good news for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ edge rusher room. Since then, Pittsburgh has suffered injuries to both DeMarvin Leal and Nick Herbig, leaving T.J. Watt and Jeremiah Moon as the only active players. Isaiahh Loudermilk will receive some edge work, and this week’s practice squad elevation will be decided by a competition between Ade Ogundeji and Eku Leota.
Highsmith stated that although he will not play against the Las Vegas Raiders, he does anticipate playing against the New York Jets. This is the first stage in his injury recovery. Highsmith would therefore be expected to play in the final two games before the bye week. If Highsmith returns, the Steelers may receive much-needed assistance at the top of the lineup, especially with Leal and Herbig still down.

He only participated in individual drills on Thursday, thus the practice report will classify him as a limited participant.
