She completed it. Officially, Cailin Clark is the 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year. This comes after the 22-year-old received 66 of the 67 votes cast for the ROTY championship, as announced by the league on Thursday. Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky, her opponent, garnered one vote to prevent Clark from winning by a unanimous vote. There’s little doubting that Clark’s Fever teammate was crucial to her success this past season, even though it was her eye-opening efforts in her maiden season that ultimately led to this great milestone. The Fever players have already congratulated their main player, and Clark has also taken the time to express her gratitude to the women who have supported her all season long. The former Iowa superstar needed just two words to make her opinions about them very clear.
Additionally, Clark chose the ideal photo, since it showed the very moment WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert declared Clark the winner of Rookie of the Year. Fittingly, Clark was joined by her Fever teammates during this unforgettable moment, and they instantly swarmed her after hearing the commissioner’s announcement. Clark doesn’t like to be dramatic. She is well-known for her silly antics and carefree demeanor, but on this particular occasion, she could not contain her emotions as she opened up about her teammates. Her two teary-eyed emojis are proof of this. With the Rookie of the Year trophy under his belt, Clark will set even greater goals for himself in the upcoming season. Her teammates from Indiana will undoubtedly accompany her on her voyage.
