In LSU’s season opener versus USC, Aaron Anderson was not anticipated to start at wide receiver, but he was used in the event of injury.
After Kyle Parker hurt his elbow during the game and Chris Hilton Jr. was declared ineligible prior to kickoff, Anderson was forced to fill the slot position. Anderson scored his first touchdown as an LSU player to give his side the lead.
In a back-and-forth game against USC, Anderson caught the touchdown pass with 3:42 remaining in the third quarter to put LSU ahead 17–13.
Prior to the 2023 season, Anderson, a highly sought-after wide receiver from New Orleans who went to Edna Karr High School, signed a contract with Alabama. He then transferred to LSU.
Anderson, a redshirt sophomore, saw some experience during the previous season for LSU, accumulating 12 receptions for 59 yards.
