Restricted free agent Swayman made the decision to skip training while he waits for his agents to finalize a new contract with the Bruins. Despite Swayman’s eligibility for arbitration, the parties had already decided to forego it.

According to Sweeney, “he has chosen to wait, and rightfully so, until a contract is settled.” “We intend to carry out further contract negotiations. I find it disappointing that even if you work hard to try to achieve things when you make them a priority in the general manager position, I haven’t been able to do so yet.

Sweeney continued, saying he anticipates Swayman joining the team before December 1. This is the last day on which a team can sign a player to a contract so that he can participate in the current campaign.

Since making his Bruins debut in the 2020–21 campaign, Jeremy Swayman has participated in 132 games, 125 of which have been starts. With a 2.34 goals-against average (GAA) and a.919 save percentage, he has a 79-33-15 record. Last season, Swayman finished 25-10-8 with a 2.53 GAA and a.916 save percentage, earning him a spot on the All-Star team.
