The Philadelphia Eagles are just days away from getting their season begun.
Unfortunately, it seems like they won’t have one of their prime reinforcements on the field for the season premiere.
According to a report by NFL source Ari Meirov, the Eagles have made a decision about linebacker Devin White.
The Eagles have ruled the veteran out for the showdown with the Green Bay Packers with an ankle ailment.
He had been designated as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, and he couldn’t recuperate in time for the game.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player inked a one-year deal with the Eagles in the summer.
A 2019 first-round pick, he spent the first five years of his career in Tampa Bay.
Notably, White will be the only member of the Eagles’ 53-man roster who is sidelined for the first game.
Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers was still hampered with a hand injury, but he will be available for the game.
As for AJ Brown and Landon Dickerson, who were both in street clothes on Tuesday, but both veterans will have no constraints during the season opener.
Nick Sirianni’s club opens the season searching for vengeance after dropping six of their last seven games last season.
They have more than enough skill in their ranks to be the most dominant — or one of the most dominant — teams in the NFC.
As for White, his debut will have to wait for another week at least.
