After her team was humiliated by Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA’s comeback, Angel Reese was not in the mood to celebrate setting a franchise record for Chicago Sky on Thursday night.
Reese broke Sylvia Fowles’ record of 117 offensive rebounds in a single season in the third quarter, setting a new franchise record for the Sky.
But after Kahleah Copper scored 29 points in an 85-65 loss, and was supported by fellow American Olympic gold medallist Brittney Griner with 23, Reese spoke bluntly to a reporter about the accomplishment when she faced the media following the game.
The reporter said, “I know you care a lot more about the results than records, but you set another record today,” but Reese shook her head.
Before the reporter could finish her inquiry, Reese snapped back, “No, I don’t want to hear about no record today.”
