SAD NEWS: Just In Kansas State Wildcats Football Confirm Another Top Experienced Star Player Just Tells Kansas State He Want To Leave….

WIBW MANHATTAN, KANSAS – Dylan Edwards is a product of Derby High School in Wichita, and Dylan has always been the focus of Kansas State football.

The Wildcats had another opportunity to bring the 5-9 speedster home this spring when he reached the transfer portal after one season at Colorado, following their disappointment at not landing the highly-touted running back during his high school recruitment.

In his lone season in Boulder, Edwards made a big impression, finishing as a true freshman with over 600 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.

When Edwards entered the gateway in late April, the Wildcats ranked him as their #1 target. In less than a week, Edwards made his commitment to Kansas State.

In practice so far, Edwards has left a lasting effect.

Redshirt senior offensive lineman Taylor Poitier remarked, “He’s so quick, like I’m telling y’all, like whatever y’all saw at Colorado, he’s gonna bring here.” “I’m very happy he came here.”

With Avery Johnson, the starting quarterback for the Wildcats, Edwards has a great deal of experience. The two were close friends growing up in the Wichita region, and during high school, they frequently squared off on the football field.

“I was looking forward to having that explosiveness on my team and not having to compete against it,” Johnson stated.

Being on the same sideline with Johnson has also been enjoyable for Edwards.

Edwards remarked, “It’s just different to see him standing across from me, right beside me, like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s my friend.'”

Edwards continued by saying that Johnson and fellow running back D.J. Giddens have benefited greatly from his playing style.

Edwards remarked, “I can say how it is right now; there’s just a lot of speed in the backfield.”

When asked about Edwards, K-State offensive coordinator Conor Riley expressed excitement about all the player brings to the offense while being cautious not to give away too much about the offensive scheme.

Riley remarked, “Without giving too much away, we will involve him and we are pressing and overloading his plate right now.”

Edwards believes he can help the offense in whatever capacity that is requested of him.

“Just punt and kick off returns, running the ball and catching the ball, being versatile,” Edwards continued.

When asked about the pressure he feels to learn a new system, join a new team, and attend a new institution, Edwards was quick to refute any notion that he might be feeling overburdened.

Yes, I have a lot on my plate, but I consider myself fortunate. Edwards stated, “This is why I’m here and what I asked for.”
