Superstar Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, who uses Pixel devices, briefly attended today’s Made by Google event to assist in introducing the new “Add Me” feature to the Pixel 9 lineup. “Add Me” enables a Pixel user to snap a picture and then utilize AI to incorporate himself into the finished image. Google went to the bench and asked the six-time NBA All-Star to participate in a demonstration of the new function to show off how it operated.
While one Google employee took the picture, another stood close to “Jimmy Buckets”. Butler left enough space in the picture’s framing to accommodate the second Google employee that would eventually be included. A second picture of the individual who was added to the first picture was taken after that one. The two photographs were combined using AI magic (oh, if only I had a nickel for every time AI was brought up during the event!), and the result was a picture of Jimmy Butler with two happy Google employees.
Each and every phone in the Pixel 9 series will support the function. Since you might be wondering why you would require a functionality like this, allow us to imagine a situation. Who do you notice when you and your pal stroll down the street? Jimmy Butler, a six-time NBA All-Star, is the reason. If you’re like me, you don’t enjoy giving your phone to strangers for fear that they would drop it or take off with it. However, you could ask a complete stranger to snap a photo of the three of you together.
Another choice is to take a group selfie with your friend and the 6’7″ Butler using the front-facing selfie snapper. It’s possible that your arms are too short to support this choice. The ideal way to handle this is to use Add Me, which allows you to capture the Miami Heat star in just one photo and create a photo that you and your friend can share with everyone forever.
