Prior to the start of the series on Friday at Coors Field, the Atlanta Braves made a few announcements. The team optioned right-hander Parker Dunshee to Triple-A Gwinnett and recalled southpaw Zach Logue to Atlanta.
Despite not being used on Friday, Logue was brought in as a fresh arm for the series in Denver. Considering the Braves’ current pitching predicament, his turn will undoubtedly come.

Ryan Watson, a right-hander, was purchased by the San Francisco Giants from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash. Watson was tradeable after the deadline since he hasn’t been included on a 40-man roster this season. In addition, after blowing a save, the Giants optioned closer Camilo Doval to Triple-A Sacramento.
After returning from the injured list, Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts will move from shortstop to right field. In June, he shattered his hand.
The Philadelphia Phillies made a few changes, optioning Kolby Allard, sending Austin Hays on the 10-day injured list due to a left hamstring injury, and assigning Darick Hall and Max Castillo to the minor leagues.
Kyle Tyler, a right-hander, was designated for assignment by the Miami Marlins. The club chose Kent Emanuel’s contract to replace him on the roster. Also, the team claimed Cleveland Guardians right-hander Xzavion Curry off waivers.
Cam Eden, an outfielder, was acquired by the New York Yankees from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash. Triple-A was given to him.
Joe Ryan, the starting pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, will be sidelined for an extended period of time due to a Grade 2 teres major strain. It’s uncertain if he’ll be back this season. In addition, the team declared that Brock Stewart will miss the whole season due to arthroscopic shoulder surgery.
