Famously, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was one of the most self-assured professional players of his era. His brilliance, which has made him one of the greatest football (or soccer) players of his generation, supports his unwavering faith in himself. With the New York Yankees inviting him to throw the ceremonial first ball in their series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night, Ibrahimovic is relishing his role as a sports star now that he is retired.
Ibrahimovic did not throw the best pitch, even though it was not the worst either. The ball was hit high and wide to the left of the plate, forcing the Yankees catcher to leap out of the box. Naturally, Ibrahimovic had to be conscious of his strengths in order to rise to the position of one of the greatest strikers of all time. Speaking with reporters, Ibrahimovic acknowledged that becoming a long-ball machine was his destiny as a baseball player.
“I’d be the one hitting the long balls. Simple. Every game, I would hit a home run, Ibrahimovic said to YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits.
There should never be any doubt about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s greatness. It would be best if everyone believed him if he claimed he could hit a home run every game. It would be best for the Yankees to get him a deal as quickly as possible.
When Marakovits brought up the fact that Judge and Stanton (6’7 and 6’6, respectively) are taller than the Swede, Ibrahimovic actually responded in a hilarious way that Judge and Stanton would be wonderful choices to support him.
That’s excellent. I therefore have a strong backup in Judge and Stanton,” Ibrahimovic remarked.
