SAD NEWS: Just In Boston Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery Just Announced Shocking Departure And Give Reasons Why He Want To Leave……..

On June 30, 1969, Jim Montgomery was born in Montreal, Quebec. Montgomery, a forward, attended the University of Maine-Orono from 1989 to 1993 for four seasons. Montgomery had 170 appearances over that span, tallying 178 assists in addition to 103 goals scored. With five different clubs over the course of his 122 NHL games, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound center finished with nine goals and 25 assists. In 2004–05, Montgomery concluded his UHL career with the Missouri River Otters.

After serving as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame for the 2005–06 season, Montgomery went on to work as an assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for four seasons. In his three seasons as head coach and general manager of the Dubuque Fighting Saints from 2010 to 2013, Montgomery won two USHL championships and was twice voted General Manager of the Year. After spending five seasons leading the University of Denver men’s hockey team to the NCAA Division 1 Championship in 2016–17 and being named NCAA Coach of the Year, Montgomery was hired as head coach.

Before being fired on October 12, 2019, Montgomery served just over a season as the head coach of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to Montgomery’s hiring as head coach by the Boston Bruins, the former Black Bears player spent two seasons as an assistant with the St. Louis Blues. Before falling to the Florida Panthers in an upset in the first round of the NHL playoffs, Montgomery guided Boston to the best regular season record in NHL history. Montgomery led Boston to a second-place result in the Atlantic Division and a second-round loss to Florida in his second season with the Bruins. Jim Montgomery’s contract expires in one year at the beginning of the 2024–25 season.
