Who is the NBA Greatest of All Time is a topic of some of the better NBA discussions. Most people would concur that LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls are the two to choose from.
James has significantly outlasted Jordan in terms of longevity. However, as of right now, Jordan holds a greater number of NBA titles than James.
Nobody thought that James would ever surpass his record as the NBA’s all-time top scorer. There are arguments to be made for both players, and every basketball fan has an opinion on this.
A longtime fan favorite of the Lakers offered his opinion on the GOAT controversy after Team USA’s Olympic opening game versus Serbia. Nick Young expressed his opinions on social media and complimented James on his style of play.
James helped the Americans win handily with 21 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. This summer, he has been playing some of his finest basketball in exhibition games, and he carried that form into the opening game for Team USA.
James would win his third gold medal at the Olympics if Team USA took first place. Since Jordan only earned two gold medals during his playing career, he would surpass him in that category.
Even though Olympic performance is rarely discussed, James’s performance—especially considering his age—adds credence to his argument. He appears to be the best player on a team that includes some of the best players the NBA has to offer, despite being close to 40 years old.
