SAD NEWS: Just In Luka Doncic Reasons Why He Rejects New Contract Offer And Confirm He Wants To Leave Dallas Mavericks Due To………

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Dallas Mavericks want to sign small forward Kessler Edwards to a two-way contract.

The 23-year-old 6-foot-8 Edwards averaged 1.7 points in just 5.1 minutes while playing in 54 games for the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings the previous season. In the 2021 NBA Draft, the Nets originally chose him with the 44th overall choice.

Edwards is averaging 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 40.7% shooting in 138 games played for the Kings and Nets in his career. 35.0% of those come from 3-point range.

The Kings acquired him from the Nets during the February trade deadline. Of course, the most of his career has been in the G League.

Edwards will join small forward Alex Fudge and point guard Brandon Williams as Mavericks on two-way contracts after the agreement is finalized. NBA teams are limited to three players.

After making it to the Finals, Dallas was defeated by the Boston Celtics. This offseason, the Mavericks have already added veteran guard Spencer Dinwiddie and former star shooting guard Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.

Thompson has expressed his expectation that a shift in environment will benefit him.

“A new change of scenery can do wonders and sometimes change can stir greatness, whether you play basketball, work in the corporate world, or in any other industry,” Thompson remarked. Breakups are occasionally required in order to do what is right. I am not the first NBA player to go do this. Growing up in Portland, I recall that the day Scottie Pippen visited the Blazers was one of the happiest moments of my life.
