Draymond Green acknowledged that Klay Thompson was no longer pleased with the Golden State Warriors and voiced his pleasure and satisfaction about Thompson’s leaving. Thompson left the Warriors after 13 years to join the Dallas Mavericks.

Draymond Green discussed his feelings over Klay Thompson’s departure from the Golden State Warriors in a recent episode of the podcast hosted by NBA guard Jeff Teague.

Known for his openness, Green conveyed his relief and joy for Thompson, who had been clearly dissatisfied with the Warriors.

After serving with the Warriors for 13 years, Thompson made a big move to the Dallas Mavericks, beginning a new chapter in his remarkable career.

Green expressed candidly how tough it was to watch his close buddy and longtime teammate depart the squad.

Although he understood the emotional difficulty, he expressed his happiness with Thompson’s choice, saying it was the right one for his welfare.

“I’m glad he went,” Green remarked.

“He wasn’t happy here anymore, which is why I’m happy. I want what’s best for him as a brother, not what’s best for me, the team, or the company.”

With Thompson’s departure, the Warriors have come to an end of an era. Thompson was instrumental in the team’s three NBA titles.

His choice to sign with the Mavericks was made following a period of apparent discontent, which worried Green.

“We were together more often than we were with our families. It upset me to see him like way last year,” admitted Green.
