SAD NEWS: Just In Austin Riley Just Announced Shocking Departure And Gives Reasons Why He Want To Leave Atlanta Braves……..

A number of roster changes have been announced by the Atlanta Braves in advance of their game in Queens on Thursday night. First, the team recalled right-hander Daysbel Hernández to Atlanta and placed third baseman Austin Riley back on the paternity list. The team placed infielder Zack Short on assignment to free up a spot on the roster.

Riley was fortunate enough to miss just one Braves game due to weather. When he finally returned, he did so with two hits under his belt.

This season, Hernández has pitched 9.2 innings without giving up a run. He will probably just be here for a brief while longer because a starting pitcher will be promoted in the next few days.
After Whit Merrifield and Nacho Alvarez Jr. were added, Short’s chances of playing in Atlanta significantly decreased.
The Braves suffered an ugly 3-2 loss to the New York Mets despite Chris Sale’s domination. Charlie Morton is on the bump tonight as the series continues.
After feeling sore while trying to heal from a hamstring problem, Michael Harris II was recently moved to the 60-day IL. Now, on August 14, he can be activated.

Dale Alexander and Brian Snitker are both in the Appalachian League’s 2024 Hall of Fame Class.

Zach Eflin, a right-hander, is allegedly of interest to the Braves. He has also been monitored by the St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros.

The Miami Marlins have claimed outfielder Forrest Wall after the Braves designated him for assignment earlier this week. He was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville by the Fish.

During his Wednesday start for Augusta, Didier Funetes struck out eight batters. See the minor league recap for more.

The Braves’ Top 30 Prospects include Nacho Alvarez Jr. as the final player for grades 7–12.

The Braves might end up like the 2021 team or like the forgettable 2014 squad at this point in the season.

The Athletic’s David O’Brien talks about the player-led meeting, Matt Olson’s slump, and other topics.
