SAD NEWS: Just In Auburn Tigers Confirm Payton Thorne Just Announced Shocking Departure Due To……….

Hugh Freeze discusses defensive line depth and Payton Thorne discusses the amount of support he has received from the Auburn football coaching staff in today’s Auburn Tigers News.
It became evident following the Music City Bowl in December of last year that Auburn football supporters were demanding a transfer quarterback. Payton Thorne didn’t have a very memorable first season with the Plains, but it has meant a lot to Thorne that head coach Hugh Freeze has repeatedly informed the media over the offseason that he has the highest trust in his returning quarterback.

“To be honest with you, having your coach’s back is huge at the quarterback position,” Thorne remarked, as reported by Auburn Rivals. It’s amazing to hear Coach Freeze say those things. Right now, I feel like we’re really on the same page. We’re trying to watch film in order to truly be in sync with the offense on everything.

“I think that we’re really in a good place right now, and it’s going to continue to get better.”

Thorne was successful at his last school, Michigan State, and it is hoped that the Tigers’ number one quarterback would be able to deliver in a way that he was not able to last season with a full offseason under his belt and an improved group surrounding him.

Hugh Freeze discusses defensive line depth.
Marcus Harris, a defensive lineman, is one of the most notable players still on the Auburn football team. Harris was one of the key defensive players lost to the NFL Draft this year. Hugh Freeze, the head coach, expressed his happiness with the players lining up along the defensive line to the media despite his team’s defeat.

According to Auburn Rivals, Freeze stated, “To be honest, that’s one of the places I feel the best about our depth.” Is the talent level fully developed now? I’m not positive. However, I believe we have six internal players who meet your requirements.

The Tigers returned a number of veterans in Jayson Jones and Quientrail Jamison-Travis while also adding a number of D-line transfers in Trill Carter, Gage Keys, Isaiah Raikes, and Philip Blidi throughout the offseason. Naturally, Keldric Faulk, a sophomore who showed himself to be a true freshman last season, will also be a key player on the defensive line.

In spite of the defense’s losses throughout the offseason, the Tigers’ coaching staff has done a great job of bringing in players to strengthen the position group.
