Latest Mavericks News: Just In Dallas Mavericks Confirm To Reach Agreement With Lakers For Another Top Sensational Star Player……

After adding Spencer Dinwiddie to their roster, the Dallas Mavericks have filled every available space. After a season and a half gone, the former Mavericks guard is joining the team again. Shams Charania reports that Dinwiddie opted to sign with the Mavericks rather than go back to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Spencer Dinwiddie is a major pickup for the Mavericks, especially in the late summer. He’s already demonstrated that he can work well beside Luka Doncic. All of these plays have piqued the eye of the Lakers, as has their desire to see Spencer Dinwiddie return. With only 15 squad spaces, there is a slight roster crunch.”

The Lakers’ inability to add new players to their roster or even persuade them to consider their team as a destination for big-name players has characterized their summer.

Klay Thompson already made the decision to join with the Mavericks this summer rather than accept more money from the Lakers. Additionally, the team passed up starting positions to players like Buddy Hield and Gary Trent Jr., who signed with other teams. They failed to even pursue a legitimate signing of DeMar DeRozan, and they have now lost Dinwiddie to the Mavericks.

Dinwiddie wasn’t a significant player for the Lakers in their previous campaign, so this isn’t a signing that should worry them. Throughout his 28 games with the Lakers, he averaged 6.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while playing out of position as a 3-and-D player.

Now, he’s back with the Mavericks, where he’ll be a key player off the bench, much as he was during the Mavericks’ run to the Western Conference Finals in 2022.

In the winter, Spencer Dinwiddie Picked the Lakers Over the Mavericks
Dinwiddie has had to choose between the Lakers and Mavs on multiple occasions in 2024 since both teams are hard-courting him as a buyout market player. Dinwiddie provided an odd defense of his choice to play for the Lakers rather than the Mavs at the time.

Imagine you’re a child and the bully gives you a whooping. Dallas would have been comforting, like your mother would have been. Lakers are similar like your father in that they advise you to “go out there and fight ’til you win.”

Dinwiddie now realizes he needs to go back to the team where he was successful and that was the incorrect move. During his one-year stay with the Mavericks, which spanned two seasons, he averaged 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. He joined the team in February 2022 as part of the Kristaps Porzingis to Wizards trade, and he left in February 2023 when the Mavericks acquired Kyrie Irving.

He will be hoping for an easy transition into the Mavericks, who include many familiar faces, such as head coach Jason Kidd and top player Luka Doncic. Dinwiddie can flourish as a bench guard in the well-established system, probably starting over Jaden Hardy. He was a fantastic offensive complement to Doncic.
