SAD NEWS: Just In Boston Bruins Head Coach Confirm Fans Favorite Superstar Decline New Contract With Bruins And Sign With Rivals……

Oskar Steen, a former forward for the Boston Bruins, has agreed to a five-year contract with Färjestad of the Swedish Hockey League, the organization announced on Saturday. Steen will rejoin the team that helped shape him.

It feels quite wonderful. Through Google Translate, Steen stated, “In some sense, you have been looking forward to this day, even though you may have hoped that you would manage to stay a little longer over there.” “But it feels really good because Färjestad is my favorite team and I have a great time in Karlstad.”

Though he played 60 NHL games with the Bruins, Steen, who will return to his native Sweden, spent the majority of his time with the Providence.

Joakim Persson, the forward’s agent, told the VF outlet in June that the soon-to-be free agent will be searching for a new squad. Officially, NHL free agency starts on July 1.

Through Google Translate, Persson said to VF, “Boston has given us permission to already start talking to other teams to see what interest there is.” “Those are the conversations we are currently having, and on June 28–29, I’ll be heading to Vegas for the NHL draft, where I hope to continue having conversations and dialogues.”

Boston placed Steen on waivers in February, and he was later shipped back to Providence. He only managed one point in 34 games for the Bruins, a goal against the Buffalo Sabres on November 14. Steen cleared waivers and played with Providence until the end of the 2023–24 season.

In 25 games with Providence, the 26-year-old ended with 16 points (12 goals, 4 assists).

General manager Don Sweeney of the Boston Bruins stated that he anticipates being “aggressive” this summer following the team’s elimination by the Florida Panthers in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In doing so, the general manager signed Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm in addition to a number of depth players, which resulted in Steen losing his position in Boston’s organization.
