After dominating the G-League, Dallas Mavericks re-sign guard to a two-year contract.

With the arrival of Klay Thompson and Naji Marshall in free agency this offseason, the Dallas Mavericks now have one available roster slot after making several significant additions. They are currently working on filling their two-way contracts while they determine how to fill that final position.
Brandon Williams was re-signed by Dallas to a two-way contract, the team announced. After signing the same contract in December of the previous season, he averaged 24.1 points per game in seven games for their G-League club and 3.2 points per game in 17 games, primarily as a mop-up for the Mavs.
Williams did not receive a pick in the 2021 NBA Draft while playing collegiate basketball at Arizona. He has since played for the Osceola Magic, College Park Skyhawks, and Westchester Knicks. After he averaged 22.4 points per game in the G-League Showcase for Osceola, the Mavs selected him. He collaborated with current Maverick A.J. Lawson when playing for College Park.
A player’s ability to divide time between the NBA and the G-League is limited by the number of days they can spend in the NBA on a two-way deal. It allows teams to have a closer, more intimate look into the progress of their young athletes.
