Greg Stringfellow stated on Tuesday that he made the decision to depart LSU in order to pursue a new challenge. He spent more than thirty years working at the university, first as a student assistant, then as the equipment manager for the football team, and eventually as a senior administrator in charge of facilities and equipment for all of LSU’s athletic programs.
Stringfellow remarked, “I’ve been with LSU a long, long time.” “A few years ago, I reached the age of fifty. You always check to see what else might be available after you reach a certain age and professional accomplishment level.
Elite Training Academy and Ochsner teamed together in 2022 to construct a $22 million, 65,000-square-foot facility close to the intersection of Lee and Burbank drives. According to Stringfellow, the corporation hired him to oversee day-to-day operations after it opens and provided him an ownership stake. He also assisted with the facility’s completion.
The academy will provide everything from strength and speed training to orthopaedic medical care to players of all ages.
For Stringfellow and his family, it was a victory, he added. “They approached me with the idea, and I’ve run with it ever since. It was something where I could be my own boss, create my own program, something I never thought I would ever think of doing.”
