In a video message to Dallas supporters, Thompson looked and sounded as excited as ever to be embarking on a new chapter in his NBA career, which the Mavericks shared on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“This is Klay Thompson checking in from the headquarters, Maverick fans. I’m really happy to be here, man. My new thread, number 31, arrived. similar to The Jet. The same number was the chip we received. That is my intention. Today is the first day of it. I’m going to start working and taking some pictures. Let’s move forward, as greatness lies ahead.
It’s time for Thompson to assist a new team in accomplishing the team objectives he assisted Golden State in achieving, having won four NBA titles and been selected for five NBA All-Stars with the Warriors.
The Mavericks possess the tools necessary to advance far in the playoffs, and Thompson might be the man to help Dallas overcome its disappointment in not taking home the team’s first NBA championship since 2011. The Mavericks’ inability to shoot well from outside the field contributed to their loss to the Boston Finals in the 2024 NBA Finals; Thompson can undoubtedly help Dallas in this regard.
