In order to strengthen a weak area on the roster, Florida State may add two tight ends in its 2025 recruiting class. In order to fill the position with the ideal candidate, the Seminoles will need to broaden their recruitment base this autumn.
Three-star tight end Hollis Davidson committed to Auburn over Florida State on Saturday. A week or so ago, he listed the Seminoles in his top two along with the Tigers.
FSU had been targeting Davidson ever since offering him a scholarship in the previous autumn. This offseason, he traveled to Tallahassee three times, including for an official visit at the end of June. Davidson’s initial commitment to Auburn in February did not deter the Seminoles from expressing interest. It will be interesting to watch to see if they continue to kick the tires or go on.

In the 2025 class, 247Sports ranks the 6-foot-5, 238-pound tight end as the No. 422 overall prospect, the No. 24 TE, and the No. 48 recruit in Georgia.
Florida State, ranked No. 39 in the nation, has nine verbal commitments in #Tribe25. Chase Loftin, a four-star tight end, was selected by the Seminoles last weekend over Missouri, Texas A&M, and Nebraska.
