Men’s basketball: Emanuel Miller of TCU signs a contract with the Dallas Mavericks
The former forward for the Horned Frogs is going to play in the summer league.

Emanuel Miller, a former forward for TCU, has joined the Dallas Mavericks and will play in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, which is scheduled for July 12–22 in Las Vegas. The native of Scarborough, Ontario, started out as a player for the Texas A&M Aggies. Before transferring to the Horned Frogs as a junior, he played for two seasons in College Station. In 99 of the 100 games he played for the Frogs, he started. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game during his time at TCU.

Over his three seasons in Fort Worth, Miller made significant progress. As a junior, the Canadian wing scored just 10.3 points on average and made just 11 three-pointers. By his senior year, Miller was trying more shots from beyond the arc and acting more like a playmaker. He was still assertive on the glass and persistent overall, but he was also getting better at what he did. Miller assumed the role of the Horned Frogs’ primary scorer as a graduate senior. In terms of minutes, rebounds, and scoring, he led the team. Miller shot 38.3 percent from three point range and averaged 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 assists per game.

In the summer league, the All-Big 12 Honoree will face off against Jameer Nelson Jr., his former teammate. Nelson Jr. will play for the San Antonio Spurs, the Mavericks’ cross-state rivals. Miller is expected to have an influence on Dallas’ summer league team. With just one pick in the draft last month, the Mavericks seem ready to use summer league play to bolster their roster and that of the Texas Legends, their G-League affiliate. The Mavericks and Utah Jazz will tip off on Saturday, July 13 at 9:30 p.m. CT.
