Nico Collins stated that his objective was to join the ranks of the greatest pass-catchers in league history when the Houston Texans selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Collins was formerly a prospect from Michigan.
Collins joined Hall of Famer Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Brandin Cooks as the fourth wide receiver in franchise history to reach 1,000 yards or more four years later. With 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns, he concluded the 2023 season with the Texans at 10-7.

Collins became one of the league’s best receivers during his career year, which led to a three-year contract extension in May. Outside of quarterbacks, The Sporting News recently compiled a list of each team’s most vital players; Collins, who led the Texans to victory last season, is included.
“Collins now has Stefon Diggs to add to his playmaking companions, but Collins was rewarded like a No. 1 for his breakthrough 2023 season. His three-year, $72.75 million contract cemented him as C.J. Stroud’s preferred choice.” – The Athletic News.
The Texans have high expectations heading into the 2024 season for a number of reasons, including Collins. Leading this position group will be All-Pro Stefon Diggs, acquired by the Texans in a trade with the Buffalo Bills in April, and second-year wideout Tank Dell.
