Dalton Knapp, a 2025 edge, announced his commitment to play collegiate football with the Wildcats on Thursday, following an official visit in Manhattan.
Currently ranked as one of the Top 100 composite players at his position in the recruiting cycle, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound player from Fort Worth, Texas, offers excellent burst off the edge. He still ranks among the top linemen in the country for his 7.33 three-cone “L-Drill” at the Under Armour Next Camp in Dallas this March.
Following an ideal weekend in New York, Knapp decided to destroy his June calendar and all future visits, despite being heavily pursued by Kansas, Boise State, and the Wildcats.
After arriving home earlier this week, Knapp told GPC, “The experience was great.” “K-State set the bar high [for me], that’s for sure.”
The most recent commit mentioned that he was a positional fit for both Joe Klanderman and Buddy Wyatt in our visit recap.
“They started running the defense a little different during spring camp by using guys like me who can rush the passer and play in coverage a little bit,” said the player from Fort Worth. “They see me playing the ‘Buck’ position and I fit really well into that scheme.”
The defender becomes the sixth commitment of the 2025 class and the third among last weekend’s guests, joining Martel, in the footsteps of previous All Saints prospects to select K-State, including Knapp’s current assistant coach Kendall Adams, who returned to his alma mater after a brief stint on the Jackson State University staff.
