The NFL transactions report from Tuesday indicates that cornerback Ro Torrence was released by the Seattle Seahawks.
After being selected outside of the first round of the NFL Draft on April 25–27, Torrence was signed by the Seahawks on May 3 as a rookie free agent.
After spending two seasons as a player for Arizona State, Torrence joined the NFL.
In 2018, Torrence played a key role in the victory of the Bessemer City High School football team during the AHSAA playoffs. He caught five touchdown passes and intercepted four other passes.
Torrence played two seasons for the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College after leaving the Purple Tigers. He was the JUCO national champion team’s NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2020.
In 2021, Torrence played at Auburn University after returning to his native state. Torrence had one tackle in ten games during the regular season. However, Torrence recorded four tackles, intercepted a pass, and forced a fumble in the Tigers’ 17–13 Birmingham Bowl defeat to Houston.
In 2022, Torrence moved to Arizona State for spring practice.
TaMerik Williams, a running back, and defensive end Rason Williams were also released by the Seahawks. Both players were undrafted rookies, just like Torrence.
