OFFICIAL Auburn News: Just In Auburn Tigers Just Confirm The Signing OF Fans Favorite Top Experienced Star Player From…..

Auburn has added former Alabama and Colorado transfer Jahquez Robinson to help shore up the defensive back positions, as the team is a little thin there. Robinson is a graduate transfer with two years of remaining eligibility when he joins Auburn. He is an addition for a scholarship.

Robinson was a player for Charles Kelly, the new defensive backs coach at Auburn.

Robinson, who was rated as the 285th player, the 21st cornerback, and the 49th player from Florida in the 2020 class, signed a contract with Alabama. During the recruiting process, Robinson traveled to South Carolina and Oklahoma from Sandalwood, Florida.

Robinson, who played for Alabama from 2020 to 2022, redshirted in 2021 and did not play in 2020. He participated in seven games over the course of the following two years, recording two tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack against Vanderbilt. During the 2023 season, Robinson played for Colorado, making seven appearances and starting two. During the Buffaloes, he recorded nine tackles and one interception. Robinson’s measurements were 205 pounds and 6-foot-2.

Robinson played 123 defensive snaps and received a 61.7 grade, per PFF. In 2023, Robinson had to deal with a hamstring injury that restricted his playing time.

Prior to spring practices, Robinson first used the transfer portal in January. However, he did not choose a new location until he signed a contract with the Tigers. He’s played safety, nickel, and cornerback, where Auburn had a lot of talent but not enough depth, particularly after Colton Hood transferred to Colorado via the spring transfer portal.

With eighty scholarships remaining after Auburn’s spring portal window closed, Hugh Freeze and his staff had plenty of room to upgrade a preferred walk-on or, as in this case, add Robinson late.

In this cycle of combining the winter and spring portal windows, Robinson is addition No. 15 in the Auburn transfer portal. Prior to spring practice, Auburn added former Alabama cornerback Antonio Kite and Texas safety Jerrin Thompson to the secondary.
