With more than ten official visitors on the Plains to scout prospects, it was a big recruiting weekend for the Auburn football program. Among those guests was 4-star safety Eric Winters, who pledged to the program following his weekend with the Tigers.
Winters, a native of Enterprise, Alabama, is the #5 prospect in the state and the #7 safety in the recruiting class of 2025. The other schools vying for Winters’ services were Miami and Georgia, but Auburn football’s family atmosphere and Charles Kelly’s background set them apart in terms of safety.
Winters’ arrival has allowed the Tigers to sign four of Alabama’s top ten players and elevate Auburn’s class to the sixth rank in the country.

In the meantime, this past weekend was busy for the Auburn baseball coaching staff on the transfer portal. Sam and Andrew Dutton, brothers from Southside, Alabama, who attended Westbrook Christian for high school, were added to the Tigers roster on Friday.
Sam Dutton was a pitcher for LSU before, spending three years in Baton Rouge, where he started fifteen games and made 57 appearances. During the previous season, he pitched 27.2 innings and recorded 29 strikeouts with just six walks. Of the five players the Tigers have added to their roster this offseason via the transfer portal, he is the most well-known addition.
Andrew Dutton, his older brother, will be joining him on the Plains after transferring from Birmingham-Southern for his fifth year. With a batting average of.340, he led the Panthers in scoring with seven home runs and 42 RBIs in 49 games as an infielder.
