On Tuesday night, former LSU cornerback Ryan Robinson committed to Iowa State football.
After getting an offer over the weekend from the Cyclone coaching staff, Robinson has decided to attend Iowa State. He was a three-star recruit out of high school and ranked among the top 800 prospects in the 247Sports Composite.
Robinson, a native of the New Orleans region, chose to walk on at LSU rather than accept offers of about 25 scholarships, many of which were from the SEC.
Robinson participated in four games for the Tigers during his single season at LSU, spending the majority of his time on special teams. Last season, he faced Grambling in one game at cornerback.
Robinson and returning starter Myles Purchase move up the Cyclones’ depth chart at Iowa State. For the upcoming season, the Cyclones will probably start Jontez Williams at cornerback opposite Purchase. Robinson, JUCO transfer Matthew Bess, and redshirt senior Darien Porter are all included in the depth chart.
