George Pickens has the Steelers’ number one wide receiver covered. Roman Wilson, a star player from Michigan, was also selected in the draft. Still, the Steelers’ chances are not great following their trade of Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers.

This offseason, there have been rumors that the Steelers would like to acquire a wide receiver. In order to get the most out of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson in his one and only season in Pittsburgh on the veteran minimum, the team needs reliable pass catchers.

Jaray Jenkins was signed by the Steelers.

The Steelers waived cornerback Luq Barcoo due to an injury, and as per their website, the team added competition to the wide receiver roster prior to training camp. They signed Jaray Jenkins using the available spot on the roster:
“After the 2023 NFL Draft, Jenkins signed his first contract as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although he participated in the preseason and caught two passes for 32 yards, he was cut before the regular season began.

Jenkins spent four seasons as a player at LSU, participating in 43 games and starting 20 of them. In the end, he caught 89 passes for 1,370 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Wide receivers Wilson, Pickens, Jenkins, Quez Watkins, Denzel Mims, Scotty Miller, Van Jefferson, Izaiah Gathings, Dez Fitzpatrick, Marquez Callaway, and Calvin Autin III were on the Steelers’ roster prior to training camp.
