OFFICIAL LSU Tigers News: The LSU Tigers Just Confirm THE Signing OF Another Fan Favorite Top Experienced Star Player From…..

Louisiana Tech Punter is another spring transfer added to LSU Football.
Prior to the Spring Transfer portal window, the LSU football team had a major need at defensive tackle in addition to a few other minor needs, one of which was a punter. Peyton Todd was the team’s punter coming into the season, but some consistency problems worried people, particularly Brian Kelly.

Kelly said the following about Todd’s performance in the Spring Game:

“Not as consistent as I would like, I thought today was an opportunity for him to just say “There is no competition here” and he’s got to be more consistent quite frankly.”

After experimenting with adding a punter this spring, the LSU football team has added one, making the position a camp favorite to watch. Blake Ochsendorf, a punter from Louisiana Tech, has joined LSU. Ochsendorf punted 53 times for 2,423 yards in 2023, averaging 45.7 yards per punt over the course of the season.

Ochsendorf’s punting average led Conference USA and he was ranked in the top 20 nationally for his efforts.

Between Blake Ochsendorf and Peyton Todd, the Tigers will now have an open competition at punter this spring. Peyton Todd’s performance will either improve to the level LSU would like it to or the competition will provide Ochsendorf, the team’s more dependable option, to the team.

Making wise use of the scholarships that are available

A position that might have presented a problem for the LSU football team in the upcoming 2024–25 campaign has now been addressed. Although the LSU football team didn’t acquire as many defensive players as they had hoped for in the spring, it did gain more scholarships. Rather than taking a chance at the position, the Tigers will now compete at the punter position this summer, which is the correct course of action.
