A player from the 2023 team is expected to return to the offensive line for the Minnesota Vikings. With this move, whoever starts under center for the upcoming season will have a stronger offensive line.

Prior to training camp, the Vikings had one unanswered question about the guard position. Blake Brandel was scheduled to start at left guard as of Tuesday. Brandel has made only five starts in the NFL since the Vikings drafted him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Vikings are fortunate to have a player returning who started 11 games at left guard the previous campaign.

According to sources, the #Vikings are re-signing veteran guard Dalton Risner for a one-year contract that includes incentives if he starts most of the season, as well as signing bonuses, per-game, and 53-man incentives.
Pro Football Focus gave Risner’s performance from the previous season an overall grade of 57.1. Compared to run blocking (50), pass blocking (67.4) was his stronger skill. Despite giving up 30 total pressure points and three penalties, he did not receive any sacks in the 2023 campaign.
